I have finaly got my apointment through for Dopler Ultrasound next month (October). The letter that comes with it is a whole page of detail on how to find the department in the hospital and asking me to arive early, It also tells me that ultrasound is what doctors use to look st babies in the womb. Finaly it tells me that the entire procedurt will take 10-15 minutes and thats all. Its not a lot of help really. I have been given a pretty good description of the procedure by a couple of people in the group already so I think I know what to expect. If they do inject my penis to produce an erection and it is sucessfull then how long will it last? The examination may only take 10-15 minutes but I have no intention of making the long walk through the hospital back to the car park with an errection. Should I take a long coat or something.
I've had 3 doppler ultrasounds done at different urologists as well as a caversonography (injection given and dye injected in to determine location and level of venous leak), never produced an erection in any of the tests (say it could be my severe, but the stress of the situation could influence it too). Either way, they purposely give you a lose dose, and may increase it if need be. However, if you produced a raging hard-on they'd likely give you something to bring it down or tell you to go to the hospital if it lasted > 4 hours.
One of the last parts of getting a dopler examination is that they wait and record how long it takes to loose an erection. They only give you what should only last an hour, half of that under ultrasound anyway. That's an hour in an undamaged penis. I, for instance, was about ten minutes short. The problem most have is, like I said, looking turned on and likely not even being in the mood. A weird feeling in the first place. Most guys won't be dripping with anticipation without a latex fetish. But you may feel encouraged if the injection gets you fully erect. That means you could use it yourself. It's worth it to get the answers about your tissue condition. |
